The Best Way Parents Learn CPR and Get Certified from Home

As a mom I have lived through many scary incidents with my girls. Like most kids, they’re curious and constantly putting everything in their mouth. If you were to ask me should parents learn CPR, I wouldn’t be able to say yes fast enough.

With young children everything feels like a hazard. There are things you cannot clean up fast enough, things you don’t even know were there, and even things found outside. Not to mention how daunting feeding children can be as they try to learn how to chew and swallow, but gag along the way.

It’s important for everyone around a child who is going to be a main caregiver to know CPR. We expect it of our educators and childcare providers, so why should we allow our children to be less safe at home?

Why Should Parents Learn CPR?

Be prepared when it matters most

When we as mamas have the knowledge and training on what to do in these life-threatening situations we feel empowered, more at peace, and confident in our abilities to save lives. If you don’t know what to do in a situation, it’s easy to panic rather than think rationally. If you’ve been trained in this situation and you know what to do, then that training will kick in and help you stay calm.

Learning CPR is more than just learning a set of motions, it’s giving yourself a straight forward plan for what to do in an emergency. It’s not just the motion of CPR compressions that will save people. The training will allow you to be clear-headed and straight forward in your actions.

For your peace of mind

As I grow as a mom, it becomes apparent to me that my peace of mind comes when I am prepared for the worst situations. The thought of my sweet child choking used to make me terrified. What would I do? How would I respond? Would I freeze up? What if help couldn’t get there soon enough? Too many children die each year from choking incidents that are nearly 100% preventable with proper training.

Everyone should know how to perform CPR. If I had my way, this training would be taught in every school so that young adults know what to do. No one should have to feel this uncertainty as a parent, but that is just not the case right now. This is why it’s important to have places like the Thrive Training Institute. They make CPR training affordable and easily accessible to everyone. You can get the skills you need in under an hour from the comfort of your own home.

Save the lives of those you love

CPR is an essential skill and even if you’ve got a general idea of CPR from movies, that’s not enough. Many people have no idea that CPR for children is different than the techniques that you’d use for adults. We need to have parents learn CPR because it’s so important for all children to be protected. Using unaltered adult CPR techniques on a child can really hurt them if you’re not careful.

There’s no reason not to get certified and protect your family and those around you!

Save Time, Stay Home and Get CPR certified

Thrive Training is now offering online CPR courses, you will get a 2-year certificate. You can take them inside your own house and learn how to protect your family easily.

Thrive training has already saved so many lives. Many mamas who took the training, were able to save a life the next time they saw a choking child because they knew exactly that to do. There is no reason not to take the time to become prepared for when it matters most.

When you sign in you get 2 years worth of access to all course material, so whenever you would like to watch it again, you can!

If you have a nanny or a babysitter you work closely with, I would recommend purchasing training for them as well.
