Fall Foliage Spots Toronto and GTA

Here are some of the top spots to go hiking with your family.


High Park Toronto

If you want to stay in the city and enjoy the wonderful colours of the fall foliage then this is the place for you! This park offers a day of family fun with beautiful colours of the fall foliage and so things like a zoo, hiking trails and adventure playground for kids.

Sunnybrook park

This beautiful large park is located north of Leaside and south of the Bridle Path areas of the city. It is a stroller and bike friendly! In this park you can also find dogs off-leash area that are fenced.

Edwards Gardens – Toronto Botanical Garden

Edwards Gardens, located adjacent to Toronto Botanical Garden. The garden offers a stroller friendly large green space, trails, creeks, wildflowers, as well as a botanical garden.

 Evergreen Brick Works

Evergreen Brick Works is located at Don Valley. It’s a place of family fun, not only you’ll enjoy the amazing colours of the fall foliage, there’s also an urban and green playground. On Saturdays you can also enjoy farmers’ market.

Rouge National Urban Park

This park is located in Scarborough, just outside of Toronto Zoo. It’s the largest urban park in Canada! This park combines history along with amazing site seeing and many hiking opportunities.

Mono Cliffs

Mono Cliffs is located on the picturesque Bruce Trail and has numerous hiking trails at the park. Some of the trails fits for biking including mountain biking.

Crawford Lake Conservation Area

If you want a stroller friendly nice hiking than this spot is for you! The boardwalk is stroller-friendly and it makes it easy walking in the conservation, feeling the wild nature but with facilities. In addition to the beautiful colours of the foliage you can also enjoy by visiting the Longhouse Village and learn about the Indigenous peoples who lived around Crawford Lake.

The Arboretum – University of Guelph

Just aside the campus there are 400 acres of gardens, plants collection and great walking and stroller-friendly trails, beautiful nature view and more!


Fall is one of the most beautiful seasons to be in the GTA, with gorgeous colours changing all around us. Whether you want a short hike or a longer walk, there are plenty of places to see the leaves change colour in and around Toronto.
